Lane County Community Grocery
Grand Opening — June 27, 2026
The new Lane County Community Grocery at 326 E. Long St. in Dighton
When Dighton’s grocery store was lost to fire in January 2024, Lane County was left without a place to buy groceries close to home — and for more than two years, every gallon of milk meant a drive out of the county. The Foundation believed a community this determined deserved better, so we set out to bring a grocery store back to Main Street for good.
Through the support of generous donors, grant partners, and countless volunteers, the Foundation formed Lane County Community Grocery, Inc. and constructed a brand-new store from the ground up. On June 27, 2026, we cut the ribbon and opened the doors — and the community showed up in force.
Today the store offers fresh produce and meat, dairy, frozen foods, bakery and deli items, Hunt Brothers Pizza, floral, and a dine-in seating area where neighbors can gather over coffee or a slice. The store accepts SNAP benefits, employs local staff, and keeps grocery dollars working right here in Lane County. It stands as proof of what a small community can accomplish when it decides its best days are still ahead.

Diamond View Building
LCCF acquired the Diamond View Estates building in 2020, with intentions of reopening it as an assisted-living, skilled nursing or independent care facility. After market studies were completed, it was determined it would not be financially feasible to reopen as an elderly care facility. The board looked elsewhere and reached out to some foster care facilities, respite care facilities, and others that may find a good use for the building. LCCF was then contacted by City on a Hill, and the building was sold to them. This was a positive for the Lane County Community, as it put the building back on the tax roll for the county and produced several jobs for residents. LCCF was proud to facilitate this transaction that has such a positive impact on our community.
We have a desire to work together with other non-profits in our community. Our number one mission is to work together to accomplish goals that are beneficial to the community. We all know our community is shrinking; this makes it all the more important to work together and help ensure that our hard-earned dollars stay local.
